Never see a C-case Connie with a dial like that. Poor picture, unable to tell whether it is original or refinished dial.
You have 14 days return policy. When it arrived, take good picture of the dial and we could help you determine whether it should be kept or return it.

Yep, it's original. These coloured dials were on offer in late sixties C-Shapes and other Omega models, and the serial number indicates dial and movement have been together since birth. The air-brush 'dark fade to light' designs were on everything in the late sixties and early seventies: furniture, crockery, cookware, even toilets!

Perhaps the most striking of these dials were the burgundy fade to black or the emerald green fade to dark green. Makes a person want to go digging in the basement for their two-tone platform shoes.

    Cheers

Thanks Des, guess it's worth getting a service. Can the dial crazing be arrested?

Strange this crackling effect. It also happened in some cal 711 integrated bracelet Constellations. Essentially it's part of the ageing process of this particular lacquer which seems to be thicker than earlier lacquer on Omega dials. During this period dial makers were experimenting with non organic lacquers and moving away from the cellulose-based preparations of the past. This makes it difficult because it's hard to say if this method of lacquer removal would work.

    Cheers

LOL,reminds me of my first post here 3 months ago asking if a dial could be cleaned

"Not sure what is on the dial here, some kind of pitting?"

"Wonder if any member knows if or how this can be cleaned?"

Someone was kind enough to educate me on the merits of "patina"

Cal. 564 is a beautiful movement. One of the last fully in-house made movements by omega. Does it have the quick-set date function when you pull out the crown out to the second level? It took me a few days before I found out how to quick-set it.

I had to look twice at the title - thank God you don't have dyslexia or there would have been a riot!
