Get those gallbladders out guys. Stones will give you complications from infection to bile duct obstruction to cancer of the gallbladder. My youngest was 11 years old. Nobody is too young or too old.

Wait, does that mean that as an Asian, i can never get my gall bladder removed? Would that explain the trade in bear/snake gall bladders in asia? If i'm really crook & become disoriented, am i still asian?

    Get well soon mate!

Suffered serious abdominal disconfort right before the new year. Just got the resuls of my blood work today to rule out hepatits. Scheduled for abdominal ultrasound next week to find out where the gallstones are...

Frighteningly over-representation of Omega collectors with gall bladder issues. Wonder why?

The stats say 10% of the population suffer, and around 10% of that require surgery.

All the best and get well soon. Never had the gallstone thing, but if you want to know about their evil twin - kidney stones - I'm your guy :cautious:

Oh and for now other reason than it's got a vague connection to "yellow"

Take pride in letting young ones at work know I had a hernia longer than they have been alive.

Had a hernia a few years ago and upon ultra sound they wanted compare the other side for comparison, then I hear " ohh my " :whistling: Had the other hernia since 16 and never done anything as it never hurt for that long (27 years)
Got a double hernia done via laparoscopy and no issues since.
Was one side effect from getting stomach pumped with CO2 and it's not your shoulder @tyrantlizardrex ( will let you find that out yourself )

All the best with your recovery. I am going through a few bits at the moment as well. It's great when you have a way forward, so focus on that and keep well.

Hope you have a swift recovery and the surgery goes as well as can be

Absolutely this and I'd extend it to "if something is suddenly different and doesn't go away" go see a doctor.

Ah yes, the get sick diet. Works wonders.

I remember before my surgery, the pain got so bad I could barely move, much less eat. Over the course of 5 days I must have consumed a total of about ~500 calories, perhaps 2/3 of which stayed down.

The "I don't want to eat, because it hurts" plan.

Things a bit better today, managed a small bowl of Shreddies at breakfast, some prawns on Wholemeal toast for lunch, and an apple this afternoon.

Going to try for a piece of fish, some new potatoes, and garden peas for dinner.

Probably the kick to the gut that this fat guy needed tbh. :D

Had similar nagging back pain about fifteen years ago. One day I begain having a craving for grape juice and for two weeks I drank nothing but grape juice, then one day i passed spoonfuls of kidney stones. and quite a lot of black and red blood. the back pain then went away and hasn't returned..

I've read that vinegar made from grapes will break up kidney stones, perhaps drinking lots of grape juice also has that effect.

Good to hear things getting a bit back to normal. Shouldn't worry food-wise - even a Tour de France cyclist has enough fat stores to go several days without food, and the rest of us quite a bit more than that! :) Main thing is recovering from the op and letting the pain ease. Hope you keep progressing well!
