Perhaps a silly question, but one I cant really figure out. What does "Professional" for Omega mean? There are hand dialed, auto dialed, battery powered Omega watches that have Professional designation, so that isnt it. Is it because they are made for professionals to be used in certain field? Do other watch companies, like Rolex for example, use this designation?
I love seeing the word on my Speedmaster's dial. It validates the fact that its owner's bound to be professional at something. Now if, at this late date I could only figure out what.
Marketing term that theoretically implies that it can stand up to the rigors of someone using it for work. I figured it was made up to denote the change with crown guards as that was a more robust design feature. Then Omega put it on the high end dive watches for similar reasons.
.........but there's a $200 designer Swiss , Roberto Bianci with an even cooler " Professional Commando " written on the dial that comes with all the bells & whistles[emoji14]
Yeah but Mad Dog ... is your palate properly professional enough to judge between Dunkin' Donuts and Tim Horton's?
Ummm...negatory...I didn't get a chance to sample the T. Horton's in YYZ...too busy goofing off at Hooters.
Hmmph! While you were hootin' it up, I was busy slavin' away, doing a road trip taste test a couple weeks ago. After several samples of each, DD gets a double-jointed thumbs up for being best for both coffee and donuts (though the last DD tested did serve up a stale blueberry donut).
Yeah I saw several Omega's with meister printed on the dial. From what i read it is a shop that had special order made for them. Personally I dont like it. Even thought it is only one extra word, it just looks out of place and makes the dial too busy. i would much rather get the non meister version.
Beat me to it. I haven't gone commando for many years, but in my younger days quite often, always with a sarong though, not shorts. MF will understand.
