Please find below few picture from the studio of my friend who deals with the renewal of cases with the use of appropriate grinding & lapping machine and laser welding for new and vintage watches.
What do you think about it? :)

    Looks like excellent work.
I was thinking about this just today , what is the popular OF opinion of case refurbishment of worn over polished cases?
Is it detrimental to value ( if you are aware of the work being done) .
I suspect some prepared watches are sold as original and have been refinished and suitably aged.

It is always an individual assessment. If someone polished the case too much, the only solution is refurbishment.
However, if it only shows signs of normal use, I would leave it as is.

If it’s over polished the case refurbishment is the only option in my opinion. I think the technology is getting to a point where originality will be difficult to tell. I’d prefer to have a great looking case that’s been worked on over an over polished one. After some regular wear it’ll get scuffed up enough to make it match the dial

Amazing work! Always interesting to see some before and after shots following a service or restoration. The beveling on that Tissot Chrono. is exquisite.

Mind-boggling. Does ANYBODY have a video link showing how they achieve those razor-sharp chamfers?
