Hello everyone, i'm looking to upgrade my pie pan constellation with this piece that i've seen for sale on carousell. The case and condition seems pretty good but i have issues with the dial especially the slightly off center 'Made' of 'Swiss Made' and should the spelling of chronometer be 'Chronometre' since its an early constellation? I would really appreciate any input on this matter since i'm pretty sure that you guys are all more knowledgeable and experienced than i am. i've been in contact with the seller and he has stated and shown me the photo of the caliber 354 inside but he isn't sure about the words on the dial. thanks in advance
Even at a glance of the dial you can tell it is way off and the polish... Well, look at how "Waterproof" has been run over by a crude polishing! Definetely one of the worst polishing jobs I've seen on such an expensive watch Really happy that the OP ventured here asking for help before jumping on this one - and good job that @kaisiang098 noticed the wrong spelling and other cues Who is the seller?
It has the serif hour markers. Similar to one of the black piepans we were discussing on eBay a couple of months back.. hmm.
Them words are bad. Love how the polisher got all enthusiatic about his job and decided to grain some more on the back.
thank you all for your input and reaffirming my doubts on this piece. Well he is a local seller/collector and he is asking for SGD$3800(approx USD$2795)
Is that case back logo original? Stars look a bit crude and the background looks "textured". Or might that be a result of said polishing?
i know very little about early constellations/DeLuxes etc, but even I could tell after a micro second that that's a very average re-dial. The less said about the case the better...
I reckon this is a ref. 2799 caseback, which are supposed to have the textured sky background. Stars got collected by the polishing wheel.
Well, I am just learning and I can see the awful polishing job on the case back. However, I do not see the re-dial. Some tips?
