I bought this off eBay not knowing enough. No problem as I believe it is an authentic original dial. I’ll invest the time a resources to put it back together. Help needed with some questions please. What caliber is the movement? What is the part number for the crystal? Thank you all for the help.

The dial isn’t original I’m afraid. I wouldn’t be throwing good money after bad on this one.

It is a decent re-dial.

Re dialing watches was normal. Why there are so many examples of such work. Some were better than others. If one enjoys the watch then why not?

Do redials have the same value as MIB or a safe queen? Of course not. Watches are to be enjoyed. That they are useful for telling the time is an added bonus.

Doll collecting has similar constraints. Played with dolls have a fraction of the value as one never touched. Re-dressed and re-wigged dolls even less.

Most collecting does come down to supply and demand. Ironic that millions (and more likely Billions) of watches have been made. Dolls have an even longer history.

Then there are cameras and lenses ...

enjoy your watch, and the process learning about how maintain it.

Probably a good idea to get it serviced (approx £130.00 plus parts) with a new generic crystal (approx £12) and just enjoy it as a daily wearer.
