Perhaps, however, when you consider that some one may place a WTB ad to swindle you out of a 10k watch perhaps not. As it is, the members are not aware of many of the scammers that are spotted by experienced and suspicious moderators before they can prey on eager trusting souls. The team really does care and regrets the inconvenience.
Understood... But 200 posts... I'm a discreet member of this forum and don't usually write, just read a lot and post few ads from time to time (and i think many others members are in my case). Bit harsh for us. 200 posts, is the figure written into stone or will it change one day?
Absolutely. yesterday I could post a watch for sale, or respond to a WTB post . Now I can do neither. If I understand the new rules correctly, even when I get to 200 posts I can't offer a watch for sale because I haven't got two references or feedback on this forum prior to the new rule coming into effect. Maybe someone could clarify the situation?
OK. So I have to take the habit to write things with no added value, just to show that I am an active member (143 more posts to go...) Prenez votre mal en patience messieurs!
I was just thinking about the same thing. But not sure that the moderators approve it, so let's play fair, let's practice Shakespeare's tongue! Oui je sais il y'a du boulot.
I think there may be some intermittent fault. I was looking at a post in the "For Sale" section, earlier and at the bottom it told me that I didn't have the privileges to post a response. Moved away to the "Vintage Omega" section and looked again later - no problems.
We have discussed this at length about what to implement in terms of security towards our members and we all felt that this was the best outcome. One of the moderators pointed out that if we set the limit at 50 they will trawl the pages writing junk that benefits no one and then scam a member out of their hard earned cash which we want to avoid at all costs. If you are known in the forum as a regular and have had dealings with other forum members that were 100% positive we as mods will look into lifting these limits for you, it is at our desecration though. Please understand that it is to safeguard YOU as the member from loosing money be it $50 or $5000. We also kindly ask you not to post random comments with no value what so ever, this is not fair on other members and will ruin any threads which no one wants either. Thanks v much
Stuart This was probably while we were implementing the changes as no one could post. It should work fine though now D
This is what we are trying to protect you from. http://omegaforums.net/threads/report-scammer-by-seller.16893/
I'll turn 200 post soon, but the feedback thingy will be a problem, though, as the few sellers I've dealth with, cares a bit more about recieve, than give, public feedback
