Hello OF members, This is a reluctant sale. I am funding the purchase of another watch and this one has to go. I know that I will probably regret this but here it goes. I have this vintage Longines Ref. 3582 Civilian Czech Pilot from 1943 for sale. This watch belongs to the Second Series, with the 15.26 reference pocket watch caliber, rare pencil hands (most Longines Czech watches have cathedral style hands) and porcelain dial. This matching numbers watch is the Civilian version and comes with the Extract of the Archives provided by Longines. There´s plenty of information about these watches out there but do not hesitate to ask any questions about mine. Case: Stainless steel case with matching snap caseback (confirmed by Longines Heritage) and fixed lugs is in very good condition, showing sharp edges and strong lugs. Rotational coin edge bezel with elapsed time indicator runs smoothly. Domed acrylic glass is in very good condition. No dings or scratches. Measurements: 40 mm. without crown (45 mm. with crown), 24 mm. between lugs, 14 mm. height and 50 mm. from lug to lug. Dial: Rare black porcelain Longines Anti-Magnetique dial is in mint condition. Hands: Pencil style original hands are in very good condition. No corrosion. They seem to have been relumed in the past. They glow when exposed to the light. Original seconds hand at 6. Caliber: 15.26 Longines signed gold plated caliber is in excellent condition. It winds and runs smoothly, and keeps very good time. Last time of service is unknown. Crown: Original crown. Strap: The watch comes fitted with a 24 mm. Alligator Calf strap with plenty of life left and a Stainless Steel buckle. Price: I’m asking $3,750 net to me insured shipping within CONUS. And now on to some photos of the watch. Thanks for watching and thanks OF for the space!
Are the hands recently relumed? How long do they glow after exposure to light? I’ve been looking for one.
