    Hello all,

I have a chance to buy a geneva from 1972 sporting the 613 movement with matching case and crown (or so it seems).

can i get your opinion if it's worth it for 320$ US???

    Thanks!!!!

Looks OK to me, not immaculate but a nice honest watch.

Be aware of the size though, it's a vintage and will be about 32mm to 33mm not including lugs/crown.

I don't know if USD$320 is high or not, need one of our Colonial Cousins to help with value.

hopefully some fellows will chime in on what i should be paying.

It's really just a statement... I'm very new to this world, do not use me for advice. :( sorry. But either way I'm sure you'll be happy.

Have you already checked "Sold items" on eBay concerning price?

I've been poking around and the going selling rate for an omega geneve sporting a 613 movement sells for:

    200-250 in REALLY rough shape
    450-600 in minty shape

Can we still service these sorts of watches? I looked on omegawatches.com and the 613 movement is servicable at omega but they want 700$ for it...

This is going to be a daily drive so i'd really like to find a perfect OEM dial and hands and have them cleaned up nicely.

And the Might As Well syndrome starts..

Servicing by any competent watchmaker not a problem at a fraction of the Omega cost.

Always a matter of opinion but personally apart from a service I would seriously consider throwing more cash at it.

Buy it, service it, wear it.

Then spend the next year looking and saving for your next one.

Not sure i get what you mean, do you mean finding NOS parts and replacing them? Like the dial and hands? Because i think with a new set i'd be REALLY happy.

Is there a good site to buy OEM parts?

Agreed. It's a decent watch, just not one the hard core collectors go gaga over.

Didn't get into the 70's with that project, and only barely scraped into the 60's because of lack of information and time.

Keep it as is at first. The vintage look might grow on you. It appears to be a correct and honest watch and would make a good starter vintage Omega and a decent daily wearer.

    As you should have!
