My local Omega dealer has a 1985 Speedmaster Pro on hand with a Hestalite cystal. Its recently been serviced with all new gaskets. Their asking is $3450.

I've been wanting to add a speedy pro to my collection, just curious if the price is good or about average?

Photos of the piece are attached.

Might be worth asking what else the service included besides the gaskets, as a full service is likely worth ~$500. I am guessing it did not receive that, though. Check watchrecon.com for pricing. This is a high by a bit from what I have seen.

Thanks @BlackTalon. I was thinking it was a bit high as well. But they're always negotiable. I'll get the full info on the service when I swing by to see the watch in person.

Looks pretty polished to me. Your choice but I would pass at that price

The reality is you can get an almost new -- or even a new -- 3570.50 for less than this. So unless 1985 is significant...

I'm with @Togri v. 2.0 its overly polished, and poorly I might add. Back of lugs are brushed at an odd angle rather than polished, the side cases are brushed but not perfectly horizontal as they should be. I'd pass, too high a price to boot.

About $1000 overpriced when compared to recent sales on eBay.

Yeah I'm going to pass. I'd like to get a used speedy eventually l and there's plenty of nicer cheaper used ones FS on this forum.

    Thanks for everyone's opinion.

Stopped by my local shop today to see this watch in person. The case is definitely overly polished. The bracelet is a new original replacement part as this watch apparently came in on the wrong band and they wanted the watch corrected since its categorized as "vintage". They wouldn't move on the price however they offered me a good deal on a brand new 3570.50 with a Omega NATO strap and clasp for $3400 plus $400 for the strap.

I decided to pass and keep looking for a birth year Speedy Pro. Again thanks for the advice. Fun looking at watches nonetheless. They had both a Dark Side and a Grey Side... Whooooooo! Made my heart beat fast!

The price seemed a bit steep. Good luck with the search for a brith year Speedy Pro. We were born the same year :)

This would even be a couple hundred high on brand new in box for a 3570.50, or just about right or a just a shade low on one in the deluxe box/kit.

I'd call this piece, as is, a "can't miss" at $1800. While fair market value could reasonably be a $2200 or so...unless you're saving a good $400-$500 under that, there's very little justification for picking this one over another.

Not a good deal they offered you either! Omega NATOs I believe are roughly $200 at the boutique.

That price was the strap and the clasp. Unless I'm mistaken the strap is roughly $200 and the clasp another few hundo? I should clarify Im talking specifically about SMPO rubber deployment strap and clasp.
