I felt compelled to post a pic of this pretty execution of the Venus 175 calibre found in the Rodania RCAF mono pusher chronograph.

That is a pretty movement for sure but...If you really want pretty movements you have to go American... Here are just a couple...

A Swiss (Brandt, Omega), and several American movements. Not that Swiss movements aren't attractive. Maybe someone will show some real exotic Swiss ones. But most of my "pretty" movements are American.

I'll play along...this first watch is mine, and thought there should be some German representation here...

Now a small selection of watches I've serviced, and first some Swiss...

To me the dial side of this Patek is just as nice - as much for it's construction than it's decoration. No cheap wire springs here...

This one had been abused a bit, but still nice...

Since David scooped my favourite Longines chronograph movement shot (fair game - it's his watch after all) I'll post this 13ZN12 instead...

    And yes some American too...

At the risk of taking this thread down a couple of notches aesthetically, I nevertheless feel compelled to show this photo of an ordinary Omega Cal. 1861. My watch was opened briefly to regulate the balance and I hurriedly snapped a photo with my iPhone. For something that was never meant to see the light of day (it has the plastic chrono brake), I found it to be quite lovely.

That is an exceptionally nice Record. I love how the text "Record Watch Co Geneve" follows the shape of the 3rd wheel cock.

Thanks. I'm quite fond of it, as the case (especially) and dial are also very fine. I haven't been able to find another with that level of finishing, but there must be a few more out there!

The 30CH photo you took will always stick out in my memory. One of the best shots of that movement reference out there, really.

    LeCoultre cal. 817 (Futurematic)

Girard-Perregaux cal 21 - not the most sophisticated movement, but the gold plating sets off nicely:

I've thought the innards of the Atmos clock are pretty cool, too:

    Enjoy,

I have watched your video of this movement many times at 0.25 speed, in awe of the flyback operation. Thank you for uploading it!

Can't find it now, but I believe I read that Eterna
used real gold to color the lettering on these movements.
