This is surely a beauty beyond words. True love and care had gone into it, before production. Best of all, hand-made and comes with a provenance.

We can only keep on dreaming over this classic and not plastic.

    Thank-you.

    Fantastic!!!
I have never heard a proper analysis on the connection between car and watch fascinations... From this forum it is obvious that this goes together.

Anyone out there that could explain it to me, so I later may try to inform my better half.

Cars, watches and boys in general.

Generally, it will start with classic fountain-pens and then vintage-watches. Finally, comes the expensive one and that is the classic vintage-car that can be driven around. Maintaining pens and watches is nothing compared to vintage-car insurance, repair and service.

From my personal pretty accurate observations and this is good news for any better-half, once a man has those three 'vices', even though he can afford, he will not womanize or keep mistresses.

The beauty of vintage fountain-pens, watches and cars will make one, dying to live for another 1 000 years more.

    Thank-you.

Yeah....but they prefer modern than vintage. :(
You have to convince them that the car will not have any trouble during the trip........ an occupational hazard for vintage car lover anywhere, a promise that you can not guarantee to keep, and an experience that will make any girl think twice to ride again with you......

But ask other vintage car lover enthusiast to ride with you and they will make excuse to drop their family picnic plan to join the ride.....;)

I think that early fan belts and a high failure rate leading to requests for "stockings" as an emergency get you home repair probably led to the female preference for modern transport.
Mind you for the many miles I covered in older vehicles never once had a fan belt fail with a female passenger on board :(

So it was the y-fronts rather than stockings when it did happen?

For me, it was cars first.
watches are easier to carry around...

Started of with cars and women before the watch thing kicked in.

I have found that one of the biggest advantages with watches is that they can accumulate without filling up the garage!
Another watch will pass mostly undetected, however another "toy car" will cause discussions with my better half why her car can no longer fits in the garage, and hence have to linger outside in the snow and ice. I know the result of that discussion: :whipped:

Anyone here been collecting "car themed" watches?
Since I drive a Lotus on sunny days, here is one that was released together with the introduction of my Elise S2 111R.
Nothing from an horological point of view, but being a watch collector, and a car enthusiast, I need to get one.
Lotus Design T1 Chronograph (Note the "brake caliper" design of the chrono pushers)....

The forth car I ever owned, following the 1st a '54 Ford Customline, 2nd '53 Chev Bell Aire, & 3rd a '52 VW split window, was a1957 Austin Healey 100/6.
    What a car that was.

Still have a sports car today. Addictions stay with you.

Without other references I hereby introduce some artwork from my regular pub.

Even insurance companies use images like that.

I'll have to disagree with that...my vintage ride gets looks from the ladies:cool: , and then I get the evil eye from the Mrs.
