Hi all. New to the forum i usually frequent the seiko forums.
I have a nice 1969 861 pre moon speedy pro with correct st 69 hippocampus case back. Stepped dial and original hands.
With closer inspection ive noticed that the serial number on the balance wheel block reads for the year circa 1974 its a 380000 serial number.
Ive owned this watch for about 6 years and didnt know its history. Is this a major problem or just a changed out part fron a previous repair?
    Thanks in advance. John.

Can you share a pic of the movement number? Maybe the 8 is a 2.

In any event, pics are always very much appreciated.

Edit: and with you username, maybe you need a seamaster?

Hi - welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a '69 case back on your '74. It's not a big deal. And BTW, your watch is not a pre-moon.
