Hello all, I recently saw a Speedmaster on sales at my local trading site. I’m not very sure abt the authenticity of the watch. But it comes with a Don bezel which looks quite mint, the hour markers patina is not bad and dial is gg abit Tropical. I have requested the picture of movement and inside of caseback. The bracelet looks very foreign to me. And seems like no endlinks to me. The 2 pushers looks different from each other from my untrained eyes. Hope to get some valuable input from the season collectors here. Thanks!!

Looks promising, you should follow up with photos of the inside. The bracelet is probably generic and you should just ignore it.

Very attractive '69 Premoon, throw the bracelet away it looks worthless, but the watch head... I see a lot of value there. Good on you for checking the movement before negotiating a price.

What do you guys think is a fair price range for this piece. So I know where to start negotiating from. Many thanks again

As cheap as you can get it for. Is there no price listed? That's also not a good sign that a bargain is in your future...

When negotiating, don't mention that you think the bezel is "quite mint", because honestly it's not. Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy with that bezel, but there is obvious minor damage, and almost half of the value of this watch will be in the bezel.

It’s listed at very close to 8000 usd. Way off the Speedmaster101 chart lol

It's in the middle of good-collector, which may be a fair assessment (I'd take the tropical part with two grains of salt - I'd imagine the lighting on the pictures has been altered). That being said, this isn't a "deal" in the classic sense of the word. If you had your eyes set on a step dial speedy before then go for this one. Sounds like you stumbled on a local ad and were hoping it would turn out to be a bargain. It's not...

We still need movement shots and some pictures of the lugs in order to determine whether or not the movement is in good condition/period correct and if the lugs have been overpolished/refinished.

You can try to negotiate. If it's only listed locally, there may not be very many serious buyers.

8k is quite high, but the dial looks like it's a bit brown - ask for more photos in natural light. If it is indeed brown, then 8k isn't necessarily unreasonable - provided you find it 30% more attractive than your regular $6k 145.022-69s.

My dads old speedy which I regretfully sold off for less than 4K usd. Sold due to the poor condition it was in. Was young and naive.

Well quite a few of the season collectors from those Speedmaster Facebook pages were saying quite negative stuff abt it. Like from the pics they can tell water ingress, moisture. Dial were damaged by tools etc. Lol. I was young and naive to listen.

Nice Speedy, looks in very good condition, I would like to see movement and lugs pictures to confirm.
