It's time for my annual July 20th contribution of what is possibly the greatest 16 minutes of audio ever recorded.

This is hands down the best audio and video compilation of the landing of Apollo 11 ever produced. So pour yourself a cup of coffee, tea, or beer if your so inclined and listen to the first Moon landing.

Listen here - The First Men on the Moon

    holy.....

That is one of the coolest things I've seen. Amazing. Thanks for that.

You can't watch that and not want to be wearing a Speedmaster.

I think the coolest thing is watching Armstrong's heart rate during the decent to the surface. He's just one cool dude even through the multiple program alarms.

Still gripping every time I watch this. Will never be bored listening to it and this is a great way for it all to make sense.

That is what I really love about this piece. It's a great way to see where all the players were during those final minutes. I also enjoying hearing the controller loop make decisions that are then passed onto Duke and then to the LEM. It all happens so smoothly.

It is amazing the amount of info flying around and the calm way Charlie Duke relays important info to Apollo 11 . Also, how calm does Gene Kranz appear , maybe should have had heart monitor on him as well.

I also recently bought "Mission Control : The Unsung Heroes of Apollo" on DVD , so that's next on must watch list.

Still amazing after all these years, thanks for sharing.

This may have been posted before, but I just looked up the time when Buzz Aldrin first stepped on the moon (First Watch On The Moon Landing:)) and I believe it's July 21st, 1969 @ 3:15:16 GMT, or 7/20/69 @ 9:15:16 PM Mission Control (Houston) time.

Missed this back in 2017, thanks for re-posting. Just had to listen to it twice there's that much to try to follow. Found the bpm heart rate indicator the 2nd time, Neil Armstrong peaked at 150bpm 60 seconds before landing.
