New beater and muddy dog on muddy walk

New beater pushing supermarket trolley

New beater having a 'time out' break

I love it!!! The ticking would get me though. It’s wrong that I think that way but I do. It’s a very very cool piece though.

then again I’m wearing my g shock a lot...I’m a hypocrite....

Apple Watch is still my go-to beater, they stand up remarkably well to all sorts of abuse

I think the question then is, is a G-shock not a watch because its a battery powered device with an lcd display?

It's not the display that's in question here; it's whether the primary purpose of the device is to tell time and it's complications, like stopwatch, chronograph, alarm etc, or some other feature, like, connected to your mobile phone or bluetooth or fitness tracker etc. I think I'm clear what I mean.
Regards

The main features of it really are watch focused, I don’t even use the fitness tracking stuff on it much at all, I like the weather, multiple time ones, calendar and the fact that its always ready without being set, it really is quite a good watch if you just use it as that and the variety of complications it supports are really well thought out.

I don’t beat watches or people, but this ghost is one of my favorite everyday watches-
i just have to take it off when it starts raining and i’m outside.

I can be really hard on a watch so to me a true beater is a watch you aren't afraid to mess up. Because its going to get ugly. Its not the watch I wear when doing dishes or even mowing the lawn. Its the one I wear when taking a motor apart or replacing a water pump. The one I wear when I move furniture or am digging up irrigation. The one I wear under my wetsuit when diving because I forgot to take it off or just don't care. For almost two decades it was a invicta pro dive but now I've got a casio for the worst stuff and a long Island watch for light mucking like swimming and yard work.
