Hi All,

I've come across a Vintage Seamaster 60 with a spider or crazed dial from 1969/70 for sale at what seems a good price

Description as below from the seller. He's a local well respected seller that mainly specialises in Vintage Seiko's & some vintage Swiss watches.

Omega Big crown 60s diver Seamaster
ref. 166.062
Spider dial
case: 38mm. all original-case/hands/crown/ dial
movement: cal.565

I've never seen a spider dial watch apart from pics of vintage Rolex

The seller has been kind & trusting enough to send me the Watch to check it out so I have it in my hot little hands already

Could the Vintage Seamaster experts let me know if this watch has the original case/hands/crown & dial as stated by the seller & if it's a good example of this model? Apologies for the iPhone pics

I've done some research & to me the hands & dial look original & the case seems to be unpolished but I know nothing about Vintage Omega's

Thanks in advance

Brent

Looks ok to me. Nice model for a first vintage omega. I think it's a cal 565 so does it have a quick set date function? Congratulations and enjoy the watch!

Thanks mate. Typo on the movement it's the 565. Yes has the quick set date function which works fine. Bit excited tbh hahahaha ☺️

Nice watch. The 'spider' dial is very common with this reference, however the cracking can present itself to a varying degree, this one is really quite cracked compared to the others I have seen.

The Bezel also looks good, which can often be cracked/dented. The prices for this reference seem to be highly variable from what I can tell, this may be because of a premium for a 'perfect' dial. Interestingly yours has no 60 below the seamster, but I believe the dial is still correct.
