The pictured Girard-Perregaux Monte-Carlo 1973, Reference 49585-11-131-BA6A, was shipped through Toll on 1 Jun 18 following a service with the Avstev Group Australasia in Sydney. It may now be missing in transit or stolen. Toll are still investigating, but since it has been nearly a month I thought I would get the word out to the watch collecting community to seek any information and to protect any unsuspecting buyer.

The watch is a limited edition, number 40 of 250, and a little more unique as it is fitted with a genuine GP bracelet - I have only publicly seen one other watch in this configuration as it requires a MSRP AU$1200 after sales purchase. The serial number is not stamped externally, so the only unique identifying mark is the limited edition number (the picture that shows the case back is from the internet as I only have a partial.)

If you come across this watch, could you please contact me or the After Sales team at the Avstev Group on +61 2 9363 1088 ext 2. If we have any members with access to non-English speaking watch groups or forums that I am not a member of I would appreciate if you could relay this information there.

    Many thanks.

Oh man, sorry to hear about these. I was chasing one of these last year but gave up after it proved quite hard to find. , since it's a LE. It's a lovely watch, and I hope it's not lost but just unexpectedly delayed. You'll never know!

Well, the Gods must have known that it was my Birthday today. After nearly a month in the shipping wilderness, a Toll courier vehicle turned up in my driveway at 6:30 last night with my wayward GP. Much relief all round. Praise be!

So where was it all this time?
Why did it just now show up?
Is it running fine and not beat up during the journey?

isn't it supposed to be monitored on a tracker?

    No idea.
    No idea.
Package sealed just like it was sent yesterday. Watch if fine.

Certainly was. Sender didn’t advise me that it was sent nor provide the tracking code as I asked, so thinking they might not have sent it I waited a fortnight to ask them. Tracking showed it was "stuck" in Sydney, and then weeks later, at the Canberra depot for few days.

Must have been out running some errands, perhaps shopping for cheese? Glad it came back
