With what a bottle of Tippex? Under what circumstances could anybody conceivably think that to be a good idea?
I'm surprised the minute hand doesn't get hung up on those crappy blobs. But two bidders will decide they have to take a shot at restoring it, so don't expect a deal on this!
Well, it's a case of "crying out for service hands and dial"! Won't pass collector-grade nitpicking but it would be quite wearable. Tom
Replacing the dial with a service dial would be easy enough and cheap, but the back of the case looks like its been machined on a lathe!
That is quite sad to me, what a waste of a fine watch. Part of me hopes that whoever butchered this realises what they have done. Probably thinking $80 for a professional relume I can do it myself and save a few $'s Shaun is quite angry
Maybe someone thought: "Hey, it's an Ed WHITE. It should deserve it's name" No, never mind, this is not funny.
Wow. I have no idea how anyone could think that mixing watch dials and Tippex would end well. To be honest, I'm astounded it's reached the price it's currently sitting at.
Kind of hard to see in the photos but the case might not be too bad under all the gunk? Still see the original bevels. A lot of the rest looks original, bezel, crown, chrono second hand etc. Case-back looks like it would make a good fishing lure. Not sure about the movement, some of the screw heads look a bit chewed up and the re-lume doesn't bode well for whoever was in there last. Guess the current price of 866 would be a good buy for parts?
