Thinking of adding this to my collection as my first LeCoultre. Low price so it is hard to pass up. Looks like it will clean up without too much fuss, although it may have been polished in past. However I want to avoid a redial or fake. What is your opinion on whether there are any red flags regarding authenticity?

The movement is a US market LeCoultre movement. The dial looks the part, but I'm not familiar with that particular model.

Massive case wear on the bezel and the lug tips. Even the corners of the bezel are worn through.

Rough at best. Price is low because it's a mess.

Its the only LeCoultre I can afford right now, so I am good with the condition. I just wanted an authentic one.

You are aware that this watch is "microscopic" by today's standards?

Perhaps its best to save up a little more for a better example?

It is tiny, but same size as my square Longine and Elgin.

I'd avoid this if you are really short on funds: worn case, no gasket anywhere so beware of any moisture, non shockproof movement (JLC are nice but not really bombproof imho, replacement parts can be a problem), resale value? It is tiny, but it could be a money pit. The gamble may not be worth it.

Like everybody else, I'd save up and wait for a cleaner example. A default buy is rarely a good one.

Purely out of idle interest, what is the asking price?

    Is it running?

Parts are worth more than that.

Yeah, I would have said not over £60 based on the value of an unserviced movement. It's mean of me but I place no value on that worn case or dial. The hands may be worth something. As it's not running, you could easily find yourself trying to find a balance ... that may well not be easy.

    Save your money.

Just to give an idea of values, this one was less than £600 a few weeks ago:

Wouldn’t touch it at any price. You have no way of knowing what is wrong with it.

That would be ideal, but in the future. Interesting the hand on that look like mother of pearl rather than radium.

It's just the colour the radium has turned to. You can see the burns on the dial from the hands. I've just been offered a really good example of a similar watch but we're at that stage of delicately dancing around price.

$80 is not such a big gamble. Better odds than on the ponies.

Honestly ... save your money and buy a better watch. It’s jist not worth throwing money at this. Very small and too far gone.
