    Hi Everyone
    First post.... though I think I have learned a great deal on this site over the past few months ...I have enquired about a Constellation day /date with bracelet the seller is pretty vague about his watch knowledge , so I'm kinda going in blind as I'm no expert myself ...wouldn't have known an Omega from a Tag in February but through a friend who likes a watch or 2 it seems to have become a worrying obsession . Using my limited, sometimes mixed up new found knowledge the watch is IMHO possibly circa 1970 168.019 ..maybe 751 movement ..I think the hands look ok ...but in the pics the "certified " seems to be obscured by the day indicator ? Any advice or a good slap down will be very appreciated and taken on the chin

    My advice would be to post some pictures of the watch in question.

    I don't think it's obscured. It's just the cyclops and the angle of the photo. However, the photo is badly out-of-focus. If they are all the same quality, it won't be easy to judge the watch.

    [Edit: Actually, the fingers are perfectly in focus. It's just the watch that's out-of-focus.]

    I'd say a mid to late 50 hand possible office worker ? . The watch ? ...I'm still hopeful

    Not possible to say for sure from that poor photo but there are no obvious tells for a redial and the case looks in good order. It will be a 751 movement with that single day-date window. You need a better pic of the dial and case back, and then it's all about the price.

    Thanks Edward ...it's up for 500 but I'm looking at going in a 400 ? If I choose to have a go .... as I can't see the movement . ..the guys seems genuine enough talking to him ...but doesnt everyone when they are selling ? .
    And wouldn't that represent a nice bit of value if we are looking at a genuine watch with original bracelet ??

    I just can’t tell from these pictures if the dial is original or a redial.

    Crystal is probably not Omega, the magnifier seems to be a bit large. Not a big deal.

    Bracelet looks correct.

    All comes down to price, and is it worth the gamble to you.

    ::confused2::

    It’s obvious that the seller is using a cellphone camera and doesn’t how to get it focus on his watch and not his hand.

    It looks good at first sight, crystal was mentioned but could be due to the smartphone camera angle. Price is ok, but these aren't actually hot-sellers. I once had the date-only version but I ended up selling it as these C-shape Omegas wear relatively smaller than their older predecessors.

    If all turns out to be ok I think it's a decent enough price. For that you are getting a movement from the great period (just) and the Constellation name and styling. 751s aren't always hotly sought after by collectors for two reasons: their "transitional" look (60s into 70s), and the day-date movement that's great if you only have one or two watches but is a pain to reset every time you wear it in rotation with your other ten/twenty/whatever watches. But it's still a top quality watch with a high bang-to-buck ratio.
