Hi, I would like to know your thought about position of gold purity marks on the bottom of this 2983. They are correcltly two on the bottom of diagonal lugs, but they are in a different position that we usually see on ref 2983. It is all ok?

thank you

Not sure what you mean about being "in a different position that we usually see"

Picture a man with a punch and a hammer - the poinçon are going to be where he puts them.
They're both neatly done and mirror one another.

Unfortunately, the pics aren't sharp enough to see the hallmarks in detail.
do you have an image of the case back? (inner and outer)

In my experience gold hallmarks are not placed consistently, they have a variation even among the same model over time.

I use to see gold mark with this incline position on ref 2853 (picture from web)

I agree that hallmarks are frequently tucked away at an angle nearer the case back but I don’t see any issues with the case you show.

Some variation is not uncommon. On mine, the hallmarks are both on the crown side lugs. On yours, one is on the anti-crown side. I do not think there is anything to be worried or suspicious about.

Ulackfocus?

Oh yeah, he went fishing and never came back.

There is very little to say about the dial, because it looks as if the lens of the camera was coated in Vaseline.

You are right, but I have no good picture for the moment. This picture doesn’t better than previous.

Good thing omega places it there. So cant be seen when worn.

I have a watch (not omega) where they are on the sides (top left lug and bottom right lug). Looks like dings at first glance.
