Though a lover of Porsche cars since the Sixties, I've never been seriously tempted by a Porsche Design watch - the objects themselves always seeming to me just a bit characterless. But that's not so with the newly-announced limited edition (of 992 pieces) 992 Targa Chronograph. You can have one for £10.650, and, oh yes, provided you're also a taker for the new Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition itself, which is a mere £136K! Both look just fine to me, so enough of this forum browsing - some serious money-making activity is suddenly a priority!
Now this is a thread I can get behind. Although I do not have a Targa... Only Porsche watch that has ever interested me though should be no surprise to anyone... Ehh f*** it. Can't get the image to work. It's the PCA Speedy...
10k GBP for a 7750-based chrono? Please. I'll also be skipping the Targa 4S, preferring to leave the AWD to either the Turbo or to a station wagon.
I wonder how easy it is to "convert" it to RWD.... From what I understand it was not a hard process on the 996/7 cars with AWD. But with the 964's it is a different story.
Not a Targa but a 996 3.4 with an a race endurance spoiler and gt3 rims, a future nice veteran with low mile 50K , i have to sell my ST 68 , but no regrets .
One sold for nearly a quarter million in 2015 - https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/mo14/monterey/lots/r107-1972-porsche-911-s-24-targa/181102 . Possible though, (from the BaT ad copy), that this one has done 204,000 miles, which, even for a Porsche, is not 'inconsiderable!' I think I might expect a FREE watch at these sort of levels!
