Nina haven't come down to $3K which would put them in line with all the other average chronographs of comparable quality.

Perhaps, but whoever rushed to pay 40k on the assumption that it can only go up has lost half their cash right now, that’s not what I would call a smart bet. As we all know, the people who win are people like yourself who started buying a long time ago what they liked just because they liked it.

Purely based on aesthetics. the UG. Love the colour of the dial and hands.
There we go, hoping someone would join Larry in commenting on the looks. Thanks.

Very dangerous to get swept up in chasing the hot watches. Buy em because you like em is the best way. Not an investment repeat not an investment. Convertible to some level of cash...win on some / loose on some...its all good.

That's the only reason to collect anything. If you want to make money, watches aren't the best commodity unless you're happy screwing the sellers and overcharging the buyers.

Yes very true, but at that time, everyone was selling old watches cheap because sellers wanted sapphire this, automatics that, and can you believe my what goes down 20,000 ft. I wanted brand named watches too, I just couldn't afford Patek or Rolex Moonphase. So I got the next best thing. Luckly the market desire for the same qualities paid off for the Clapton. It didn't for my Omega Cosmic or Movado calendar watches. So there was some speculation in my thought process. I just got lucky.

Oh so true, Robert Maron is in my opinion the King of over charging. Who else could get you to start paying $30K for a white gold Datejust 1601. Ok, yes it is rare, but $30K?!?! I'll be happy with the vintage Compur.

A tactic to draw traffic to his website and other offerings. As is true with many dealers, the asking price usually isn't the selling price.
