Poll | 3594.50 + 3518.50 + "2254.50 or 2264.50"?

I have a dilema (which is a nice position to be in) and I'm lucky to own a Broad Arrow + Speedmaster Racing and am looking for another watch.

I like the older models (less bling / shiny / more understated IMHO) and I'm stuck between adding another manual: 2254.50 or might just go for the 2264.50 (and get my first quartz); but can't make up my mind.

Buying a decent "Peter Blake" will cost about €1000 more for a decent one [Full Set] or I can save the money - Any thoughts / comments?

Personally, I prefer the quartz Peter Blake for two main reasons:

1. The dial is visually more balanced with less text and even lume plots at 9 & 3
2. The quartz caliber includes the jumping hour time zone feature, which makes it perfect for travel.

I wouldn't really care about full set on either Peter Blake model, unless you covet a disintegrating Omega box.

I didn't know about the jumping hour hand feature - thanks for that. Useful as I do travel a lot.

I have a 2254.50 and love it. Movement is easy to service and I find a mechanical watch to be a more special thing.

The extra line of text isn’t going to be that noticeable and it’s not a “travel watch” for me. Currently it’s the watch I use in the ocean/lake, on weekends on a NATO, etc.

The 2254 is one of my favorite watches, and I especially love how flat it sits on the wrist. I wouldn’t choose a quartz version over it. I also don’t like how the date window on the 2264 is positioned closer to the center. In my opinion, the €1000 difference is worth getting the 2254 over the 2264.

Well I love the 2254 also

BUT, the quarts version 2264 is more accurate and are ready to go any time with out winding and setting the time. That a big plus when you have many watches.
It might be a little slimmer as well?????

I checked with a few retailers and they told me the hour hand does not jump or move independently so I'm now confused.

This one have a jumping hour hand
FSOT: Omega 2264.50 (Independent Jumping Hour Hand) w/Adjustable
Clasp, Rubber Strap, and Grey Nato | WatchCharts

But Omegas website says nothing about it.

But I think you can trust Scooterino in these matters.

Thanks again. I wasn't doubting the facts, but it seemed strange that a few retailers, and even some owners thought it didnt have this feature - which is a huge selling point for me.

Sometimes these retailers know a little less than us fanatics. See below video, demonstration of jumping hour begins at 4:15 mark.

You're a legend - thank you. Maybe my initial question to them was lost in translation 😕

I owned a 2264 and can confirm it does indeed have the jumping hour hand, i used it many times while traveling, very useful feature. I own a 2254 now, i couldn't pass it up, this super mint one came up for sale from a VERY reputable seller, serviced etc., and i always wanted one to begin with. I bought the 2264 years ago as my 'first Omega' and wasn't sure i wanted to incur more expensive service costs, but also just couldn't afford one at the time. I love both watches. I can tell you the 2264 is slightly slimmer if that matters to you, but only by a smidge, and the 2254 is still a slim watch for modern day dive watches and probably slimmer than your Speedys above i'd imagine. If i were you i'd be tempted to grab the quartz 2264 based on your collection already, it would be a great grab and go watch and it's incredibly accurate. Also a new battery, pressure test/seals from an AD will only run you $60 more or less.

Yo Scooterino (or anyone else), about what should I expect to pay for a 2264.50? I've always really liked the sword hands Omegas and I'm thinking about adding one. I'm not looking for a mint/unworn copy, one that has been worn and loved (but not completely abused) would totally work for me.

I'd say between $1,500 - $2,500 +/-, prices have increased a bit, you'll see some upwards of $3k ebay but that's unreasonable IMO.

Agreed, and I would be targeting close to $2k and under for a private sale based on condition.

I think that the 3594.50 and the 2254.50 are a very complementary pair!
