Polish on SMP300 seems to almost be "coming off"?

In April I got a secondhand SMP300 from goldsmith's in the UK. The watch was in great condition and you could tell it had hardly been used. I'm not sure if this was there when I got it or if it has recently appeared. It looks as if the polish is either unfinished or is somehow coming off, on the in-between links that connect to the watch itself. Wondering if anyone can help or tell me anything about this.

Sorry if posted in wrong thread. Only made an account to ask about this so am new here.

I assume that you're referring to the lower 1/3 of the two links that you have circled that appear to have more of a brushed finish than a high polish finish. I note that the adjacent part of the brushed link (to the left) appears to have a pretty large scratch/scuff. Are you sure that what you're seeing on the polished links isn't just a continuation of that scuff from whatever the watch contacted?

There is a hair on the bracelet part,
And underneath and to the left of that is just dirt. I don't think it's a scratch or scuff, it looks like it's too cleanly brushed off.

It's either some gunk on there that needs to be cleaned off, the shop you brought it from tried to brush off scratches on/near the endlink but didn't tape the polished bits correctly, or it's actual damage that has changed the finish.

Side note-- I've never seen so many dings in one spot on the bezel like that.

Could be related to the OP's concern on the polished links.

It’s a second hand watch. Who knows what went on. But whoever owned the watch before you wore something that has dinged the bezel above like no tomorrow so would put it down to that.

Bracelet will get made all pretty at service.

I agree 100%. I have the same bracelet and if not properly taped before buffing it would have the same outcome.

For comparison purposes:

There really isn’t much more to tell you. It’s damaged, and you can either get it fixed professionally or leave it as is.

I’d get it fixed.
