Polish Hesalite - How Many Times

This might have been answered but since I have a vintage Speedy, I have polished the crystal twice or more in 3 years. Honestly I never documented it.

Now with the new Hesalite, how many times can you polish the crystal. Whats the limit?
Are there any signs of it being over polished or at the limit?

I've read a lot of the threads on this and the number is 3 but it seems like you can go way further.

As long as you are consistent with your polishing, and don't create any flat spots, you should be able to polish the hesalite loads without any obvious signs.

Even seen these machine polished and sanded.

There was someone worked out how much you generally removed with a lightpolish vs overall thickness, and it would take weekly polishings for years.

If your finger hits the dial, you've done one too many. 😲

Seriously, there is no set number, but unless you are trying to polish deep scratches, quite a few. At your current rate, many years.

How long is a piece of string?!

I do mine by exception... if a scratch or scuff is visible to the naked eye, I’ll get the Polywatch out. Otherwise, they’re just hickeys.

If this is true it's comforting to know.

Well I've polished some nasty scratches out of my daily wearer.

Just as long as you don't go mad with it you'll be fine.

If the Ω logo on the plexi disappear it is time to stop...

Joking aside, if you polish it by hand using only polywatch it can take a lot

If you have deep scratches and you have to use fine sandpaper and then polishing cream it will be more less

I responded to this same question on another forum, but as I need to get my count up... I've had my Speedy for 25 years or more. Same hesalite. Never an issue with it. I worry less about the crystal on my Speedy than I do on watches that have sapphire on them, especially if they're coated...

Thanks for the reply. I agree when it comes to AR coating.
