This one on the bayPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network sparked my interest and I figured it deserved its own discussion.

Apparently there were waffle dials. I'm always a fan of subtle textures on dials. I really like these. Just wish these cases were just a wee bit larger. A 35mm would be perfect.

I believe this watch has been posted in the UG eBay thread, you may wish to check there.

Yup. I thought the topic merited its own thread.

I have discussed with the seller, he confirmed that the size is 37mm with crown (i.e 35mm without), which is reasonable now. Loved the dial immediately, wished it has polerouter written on it ;)

I will get back with photos once I get the watch.

This is one that I sold a while back..the crown is slightly different. It was a nice watch, but these silver on silver waffle dials are terribly difficult to read under most lighting conditions.

This explains a lot of early DC-6 crashes, "My eyes, my eyes,...I can't see."

(Actual transcript of conversation. These men are not actors, just watch idiots. "Savant" doesn't enter into it)

So much for the rampant speculation about UFO's - it was simply their watches.

Thanks! I'm a fan of UGs and am thrilled there is a forum for them. I'll show more over time.

Going through some old threads and I know this is one is old, but when was the last time you saw one of these watches pop-up?
    For me NEVER!

    I love this dial.

Here's a blast from the past.

@csikora - do you happen to know what reference your waffle dial Polerouter Date was?

Does anyone have a similar example with a visible reference?

Sorry, I'm a little late, but I'd like to show my waffle dial UG Polerouter Date!

    It is a 218-2 microrotor.
The crown is not original and the crystal is a new "Sternkreuz 305/285" (in case you need a new one;-)
Unfortunately, serial and reference are no longer readable, but following www.polerouter.de, it should be a 204612/1
The inner case back clearly shows 6 / 63
And yes, angle- and light-dependant, it is not easy to read the correct time or the printing on the dial.

Here are some pics - enjoy!

    Love it, thanks.

Definitely a 204612 super compressor type case but it won't have been a 204612/1 as that has a plain silver/white dial.
