Polerouter Sub - red lume on hands?

Maybe somebody want to make them more visible.
The question is moreso regarding authenticity - especially considering there seems to be no visible patina and this is the only one I've seen with such a handset. Considering how niche some of the variants can be though, I wanted to see if anybody has come across this before (service/replacement/etc). Thank you!

The paint box not only contained red, I assume. Seems to be a personal interpretation of a Sub.

I know, hahah. I just wanted to make sure OP got it since he asked this:

When watches become so collectible and valuable, we treat them as incredibly precious. But original owners probably didn't think about them that way, and some people just like to modify or upgrade.

I have been shown several highly collectible watches where the owner says that their eyes were bad and it was hard for them to see the hands against the background, so they asked their watchmaker to paint them. Or in this case, maybe the owner just liked the way the red paint looked. It's hard to look at as a collectors, but at the time, it was probably just a watch. How many times have we seen new members on the forum complain about the fact that the lume on their old watch is dead.

In this case, the harm done is fairly minimal. The hands can be relumed and the indices are in bad shape anyway. I'm not sure what's going on with the date disk.

Sometimes mods are cool. Here is one of my Polerouters. It’s not supposed to have a red sweep hand but it does and it’s cool. I even had an ostrich leather strap made to pick up the red hand.

Thanks all for the input - to be clear I'll be straying away from the example listed since
there's too many variables and replacing parts like that would likely be prohibitively expensive. But for the right person, I can see the appeal as I don't hate the red accents. To each their own!
