    Hi OF,
This watch looks like the correct reference.
Not sure how polished the case is and the movement looks beat up.
What do you all think? Worth going after?

All looks to be original and correct for that reference.

Interesting tropical dial but, as is very often the case with genuine tropical dials, the moisture/heat has also had an impact on the movement. This is most obvious when looking at the heavily oxidised rotor.

That said, the seller claims that it’s keeping time and there are no rotor marks on the inside of the case back so it may just be superficial. Definitely budget for a service though.

Yummy case and dial. Sadly that movement looks like its been marinating. Buy it if you have a good watchmaker. Don’t buy it if you don’t. These watches are fiendishly hard to service even for guys who can re-build a tri compax in their sleep.

I imagine the sell price is a princely sum since its tropical and all correct. I'd budget $600 minimum for a service.

Whilst I don't disagree with the sentiment, $600 seems a bit pessimistic.

You can get yourself an entire replacement movement here for only £155 GBP.

I did not spend that much because i’m a regular customer at my watchmaker. Pessimistic perhaps but after what he told me about working on these, and especially the rotor assembly, I’d have to assume an off the street price like I quoted. Granted mine needed a lot of work. I tried to pay him more than what he charged me but he waved me off.

not to ruin the party. . but i don't like the look of the dial just on aesthetics. sometimes tropical is magical and sometimes it is just brown and to my eyes this dial just doesn't have any of the magic that the right tropical polerouter dial can have

My last service was more than that, but involved a lot of parts
