So along with my great-grandfather's Lange pocketwatch, I inherited his fob that went with it. I'd love to use it, but it's breaking - the wire or string or whatever at the top is separating from the end piece. Do you think it's repairable? I keep it tucked away to prevent further damage.

 

A goldsmith who will work on base metal, and an owner willing to foot the bill, and anything's possible. This might be a job for someone with a laser welder.
