Lately we seem to have a few members who enjoy the beauty of pocket watches, perhaps a thread where we can share some pics. and information ? I'll kick of with a Waltham Riverside which at 100 years young is still performing as the day it left the factory. Favourite point of this piece for me is the micro regulator.
Here's my Riverside circa 1894 Rockford circa 1902 Hamilton circa 1928 I've got some more but they don't run so they don't count.
It is a factory conversion dial. It is a lever set movement that should be in a hunter case. I may convert it back, haven't decided yet, since the seconds at 3 is rather unique. And I really need to get a regulator spring just to make it complete, although no harm with out it, runs just fine.
It figures, some one would just have to show up with an Omega !! How elitist !! (j/k). That's in beautiful shape.
Shown a while back but nothing wrong with an other viewing. One of the many "unknowns" and purchased from a Brocante in the south of France for a few euros. A pin set, for the uninitiated you have to depress the pin to set the time. A little safety measure to prevent an unwanted time change.
At last! PROPER PORN!!! I can play this game for hours!!! We'll start with......... 1894 Riverside late forties Ball CRP Waltham all running well and keeping really good time!
I can keep going....... 1893 Waltham 1923 Omega 1923 Illinois (motor barrel.....Mmmmmmm) Go wan..... get another.... you know you wanna......
Hey Fritz, If the Pocket Watch Database can be believed both of our 922's went to the finishing dept. on the same day. July 26 1928.
Here's my Dad's old (now mine) Elgin pocket watch. I think from 1920s? Any info anyone else has to share about it would be appreciated! Beautiful pockets above! (Sorry about the bad lighting)
