I am curious what the difference is (if any) between 1591/831 and 1590/867 bracelets, and are they interchangeable?

What was the steel bracelet part number that originally came with the Planet Ocean 8500 (232.30.46.21.01.001)?

Thank you.

1591/831 is for the 45.5mm chronograph (9300)
1590/867 is for the 45.5mm non-chronograph (8500)

The bracelets are interchangeable if you have the correct end-link (867 for your 8500 45.5mm). The chronograph version has a thicker end-link to fit the fat case/lugs better.

This is great thanks. My 8500 45.5 PO has the 1591/831 bracelet but with an 867 end-link so I guess I’m good.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know where a brand new bracelet can be purchased? Does Omega sell them directly even for older models? I am specifically talking about ref. 020ST1590867

Call your nearest Boutique as listed on the Onega website.

They can assist you. They have most bracelets available for modern pieces like all of the PO’s.
