PO 2500 bezel moving both ways?

After service, bezel runs both ways, the correct way with the clicks, and the wrong way, but just smoothly, no clicks. Will this fall off eventually if not attended to?

Just another one of the MANY faults that it came back with, after their 5 month wait service. If the same person is responsible for fitting bezel as servicing movement, he has no business working there, I'm sorry.

I really can't be @rsed to send it back again. Any help appreciated. Thanks people.

Of course, that's a problem and unacceptable -- the bezel being able to rotate clockwise, that is. I can't comment on whether that puts the bezel in danger of eventually falling off.

My advice is to cut your losses and find a different watchmaker ASAP. I had a similar experience -- I left a watch for service, it was with the watchmaker for a very long time while a replacement part was sought, then the watch came back with a different problem from the one that it went in with. So after paying $400 for a bad repair, I turned the watch over to Omega for a proper repair, at a cost of about $600.

Let folks here know where you are located and maybe someone can recommend a local, trustworthy watchmaker for you to try. Good luck!

Thanks for the response. Yes I agree. It’s time to bin Omega servicing and keep expecting them to be the best bet for servicing the Omega. It’s the second time it’s come back from them with something wrong. We assume it’ll be like new. It’s never ever come back like new. They last for ages from new, and in great working order, until that fateful first service. Fateful for me, because of experience, not for everyone. Aesthetically, this time was decent, but that’s all. So disappointing. And a pain that I don’t want or expect after paying over £500 to have to send back and wait for more poor workmanship. Never again.

Sounds like you need to replace your bezel click spring. If it's turning clockwise smoothly, that little tab that goes into the case is bent or broken off, but the three little ratcheting tabs are still intact. Bezel won't fall out, as there's a separate clip that sits inside the bezel ring which keeps it in.

Send it back to Omega they should expedite it if you explain what the issue is, that it was fine when it went in they should expedite it and it should be free including all shipping.

They forgot to add a part into spring assembly

rookie error.

Actually sounds like they forgot the spring.

What a coincidence. My 2500 PO also did the same after coming back from Omega/Swatch service. I had to send it back 3 more times for the same reason… each taking a 6-8weeks (don’t feel that’s expedited)…

They might be reaching the bottom of the barrel in terms of staffing.

Not if it clicks in one direction...

To the OP...

The clicks have nothing to do with the bezel staying on the case. But if you look around the perimeter of the case, make sure the bezel is sitting tight to the case all the way around. If it is, it will not likely fall off.

This part of the work is not done by trained watchmakers, but by people who have been hired and given on the job training.

So they sent you the watch 4 times with the bezel being defective when you received it? That seems extraordinary...

Thank you good people for your replies. I know I should send it back but it’s more hassle than it’s worth and always comes back with another problem. I think maybe I should find a local who knows how to take off and put on. It can’t be that difficult surely.

Don’t suppose I can pull it off and push back on myself can I, Too risky ?

@Archer thanks yeh, it's flush to the case, looks fine, just turns without the click.

The question is, what will you even be able to do once you get the bezel off? My guess is that a new click spring is needed, so probably not worth the risk unless you have a new one on hand...

So try #2 and #3, I was told they replaced the clock spring. Mine isn’t the exact same as OP. Each time it came back it would click anywhere from 1-10 clicks going clockwise (wrong way). In each time I mentioned the gap between the case and the bezel was uneven, I suspect it was bent during service because I never had this problem before. The 4th and last time they fixed it for good, but no idea if they replaced or fixed the bezel.

Yeh, ta. And the likelihood of getting one or knowing what to do with it if I did, are slim.. Point taken. There are loads of glitches really. The crown is very tough to press in and should turn more than it does before it tightens I feel. That was one of the reasons it went in. It doesn't feel positive when pulling out, or in any position but stiff to push in and very little turn when it is. That was what happened before it eventually gave up the ghost. I could list a load of stuff but know it won't get resolved by them.

Funnily enough, before it produced this problem, it used to miss clicks when it only turned the right way, for around 10min to 30min position, then clicked in again. Now it is bi directional, not unidirectional?
