Hi OF comrades....Someone can recommend a good watchmaker to restore the lume to these dial and hands.!!! Best, JB
James Hyman in the U.K. I know there is a lot of debate about relume but from personal experience I can't recommend him highly enough.
Why FullyWound do watches for people literally worldwide.. we are in the UK and service for Japanese the philippines Ireland and even the US.. thats like this month i'm not bragging or gloating but why does it matter where you are you may need to pay a little extra in postage but what does it matter? All your jaegers go to switzerland... Most Vintgae Omega too.. Heuer.. etc etc
@Tmorehouse51 - do you have any pics of vintage dial/hands relumes? I have used James Hyman in the past, but it wouldn't be bad to have a stateside option
I'll give my opinion and it is that I love it the way it is. But you know what is said about opinions...
I would leave the dial as is and have only the hands re-lumed matching the colour of the dial luminous numbers. just my 2 c
If this were my watch, I wouldn't touch anything. The dial has almost perfect patina. It is normal for dial and hands not to age the same way. This model is quite collectible in original condition. Re-luming the hands could hurt the value. A redial will hurt it even more. Please think about leaving it alone. gatorcpa
If perusing watches on display, I would look right past an obviously re-lumed watch to admire the watch with reasonably preserved original lume next to it. That Mido is better than only reasonable.
I think if you have it redone you will be disappointed. If you look at all the detail in this dial you will never duplicate the crisp edges on the track of the tachymeter. If you don't like the look of the numerals you should look to more contemporary watches.
