Just start learning and try to stay calm before getting my 2nd vintage Omega, which you seniors here say must be not so-so but beautiful.
I'm watching a listing of a C-case Connie 168.017, calibre 751. Trying to study the images, here are some of my observations:
    - Numbers of the case & movement look matched. A legit one, I think.
    - Case looks quite sharp (those edges), but seems polished at some point?
    - Dial looks clean, but I'm confused about the Omega text: the "G" looks like it's bigger than "A".
I saw the same on some other Connies. Enlighten me, pls.
    - Movement looks clean. What should I think of the small marks above the serial number?
I just tried to do my homework. Would highly appreciate that you guys correct what I missed and teach me other things I dont notice at the moment.
And overall, is it a decent example?
    Thank you.

The watch looks good to me.

There are a few nicks and bumps due to wear, but nothing serious. Have the movement checked by a watchmaker and wear in good health.

PS - Have the goopy gasket replaced and the case cleaned.

    +1

Linen dial is a plus as is the bracelet that looks to have all links but you may want to ask the seller what size wrist it will fit if your over 7"

    wrist ;)

PS - Scratches above the serial number may be tool marks from an earlier service, you can see a watchmakers mark to left of Omega stamp on inside case back photo

    Exactly as @gatorcpa says :)

Great looking watch. Now it's only a matter of "how much".

Thank you guys, very much appreciated! It's amazing to see how quick and helpful you all are to newcomers like me.
@gatorcpa @peatnick @ConElPueblo: So that's fine with that Omega script on the dial? I have a small wrist (only 6"), so the bracelet should be no matter at all.
@cristos71, do you say this Connie is an interesting example worth considering?
Btw, the asking price is about $750. With the linen dial and conditions of the watch, is it a fine deal?

Watch looks good, but I don't think the 168.017 ever came with a 751 movement, it should be a 168.019 for that.
    Wrong case back?

    True, 168.017 is date only

Could be a frankenwatch, but one that I would wear.

Besides, you might run across a correct caseback on eBay one day.

There really is no difference between the .017 and .019 casebacks anyway.

Still, the price should have been discounted somewhat. If this was an e-Lady Special, then it probably was.

Oh yes, I also googled and saw .017 going with the 564 date-only.
Btw, the latter image of the .017, are those dauphine hands correct for these Connies?

Believe so, the one on right dates to1967, making it an early "C" case

On left is circa 1969 with much more commonly seem stick hands, Desmond's site has more info
