Please stop messaging mods over sales approvals

In the last two days there have been 5 people complaining about sales post approval times, during the hours Australia and the UK are asleep, and for ads that in some cases had only been in the queue for 2 hours. We typically get to them in 12-24 hours and have been even over Christmas and New Year’s, 48 hours or less is the target we aim for. There has been an influx of impatient sellers and if you hassle enough over it your ad may be rejected.

Please keep calm and respectful and understand that we don’t charge money for your listings and operate on a volunteer basis, threatening to “take your business elsewhere” as one member did won’t speed that process.

Ha ha they said they will “take their business elsewhere” don’t they realize this is a forum and the sales section is just that. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist the sales thing is just set up for members, and obviously some dealers, to sell stuff without fees to this place. I wish you could mention who said that so I could be sure never to purchase from them but alas I shall just let it go.

threatening to "take your business elsewhere”.

The sense of entitlement of some people never ceases to amaze me

Thanks mods. Please carry on doing a great job 👍

on that note, can members donate to forums or specific users who took their time to help guide countless newbies and myself to navigate the land mines that are vintage watches? I’m happily send a percentage of my watch buy to OF and those asskicking members, eat, sleep and breathe ticking arm devices.

Honestly, the only difference between a franken POS or an honest piece is when @janice&fred ,@abrod520 and other senior OFers said it is.
Those confirmations are highly valuable to me. Thank you!
(Haven’t sold a single watch in 20 yrs)

If you’d like to donate men’s mental health charities are a good way to support the exact demographic of OF members and it’s something where a little bit can make a big difference.

There’s a great thread here with some links in it

It wasn't my fault. Them upside down Aussies took too long. I was in a hurry!.

Comedic gold.

This kind of behaviour (messaging for sales approvals) should induce a 1 week penalty delay ... I know y'all are nicer than that, but still...

@dsio Do you still get the “I have a right to Free Speech , it’s in the constitution” PMs when you delete someone’s post. ( even though it’s your website and it’s in Australia )

Still love @Trev s post

Yeah. He can fυck right off. Banned his account.

I personally would have no problem at all with a compulsory nominal charity donation for every listing, say $5 or whatever. I guess from the admin POV though it would add extra hassle and then would give those with a sense of entitlement even more reason to whine.

Maybe we should ask senior member Jan what he thinks* 😉

*no genuine needle intended, just smiling at the thread above.

ps I apologise for threatening to burn your boomerang last time my listing was waiting 10 minutes for approval. 😀

I just curse them with: “ may you live like a koala.”

You know in a tree with the clap.
