·Are these fools even trying? Some of these fakes are so damn nasty it's amazing to think anyone would think they were the real deal.
Well it's a pretty blatant franken...is it not bad enough for this post?
It may be not the assemblage of parts that left the Omega factory, but it's not a fake.
It's quite possible that the parts could have been mixed by watchmakers during servicing in its 60 year or so history.
The seller has not hidden anything on photographs and described exactly what he's selling.
He has also been used by a number of members here and may be open to revising his description.
Ok mate, so there needs to be deliberate intent to decieve, etc. Fair enough.
I've only posted the link, not made any statements regarding the sellers integrity, bit it's certainly more than "quite possible that the parts could have been mixed by watchmakers during servicing in its 60 year or so history."
The 503 cal never came in that case or with that dial to the best of my knowledge, and that's one of the models I really like and have a few of (I love simple stainless Seamasters from the 50's).
But I get the point, we're looking for real crimes against humanity not just discrepancies.
I'd just hate to see a noob pay 500 odd bucks for that, which looks like is going to happen.
Completely agree. Im not familiar with the model but it does seem like Im buying an original watch from that desc. Im not sure it belongs into counterfeits thread but good eye either way.
Reference 14744 should house the caliber 503.
Just because you aren't familiar with a particular reference don't assume something is incorrect.
