I always thought that since Zenith had won so many Chronometer competitions that they could use that term on those movements as Chronometer grade but not necessarily each watch having been certified. I’m sure the more knowledgeable here will agree or correct me. Either way, Zenith made some incredible pieces and were, IMO, far ahead of most other companies

Apart from the cal. 135, which won five consecutive chronometer competitions, did any other Zenith movement also compete in such a competition?

Silly old me! I used to believe the propaganda that in order to use words like Officially and certified and superlative and chronometer, the actual movement had to be tested to a standard by some Swiss government laboratory

Sorry guys, I had forgotten the purpose of this thread, which was to show interesting Zenith watches.

I know that my tastes differ from others here but I assert that these watches don't get seen all that much.

It is a large 1928 14kt white gold tank style Zenith with an art nouveau dial

I know that many of their pocket watches were submitted for testing but as to wristwatch calibers, I’m not sure

Yes but it's often the name of the shop, eg it says Patek Philippe Chronometro Gondolo

There are many old watches that just say chronometer or Chronometre

A propos zenith bumpers, this one just kinda fell on my lap today... 18k waterproof case with a screwed back.



I assume that for a 1950s watch head, the correct buckle is the one with a star? I mostly saw suspicious copies of these.
