The 1970's (?) omega speedmaster 125 automatic! The complete face and mechanicals sperate from the the braclet bezzel as pictured from this library pic. How does it stay in the braclet? Is it a rubber gasket / o ring? Where do i get one if I can? Any help appreciated
Wow. Sorry to be no help, but I'm just astonished. I had no idea it could just pop out of the case like that. My $0.02 is that there MUST be some sort of a friction ring that holds it in place so you can remove it like in your pictures by just pushing it through.

A little background on this. This style of case is patented by EPSA, of Super Compressor fame. It's designed like this to allow easier manufacture of the inner case out of softer metal (not sure if Omega's case is all stainless or not), with the exterior case made out of stainless steel or other harder material (tungsten carbide is mentioned in the patent). If I remember rightly, the patent mentions giving the owner the flexibility to swap the inner case into a variety of different outer cases as desired. Apart from the Omega 125, Aquastar used the style on a few watches and I have a "Yachting Chronograph" branded watch with a Valjoux 7733 inside. The case of mine was made by EPSA (divers helmet logo inside the caseback). As you can see, mine has a rubber gasket around the outside of the inner case. It then fits snuggly inside the outer case.
