I have an Omega watch for sale. I have no idea where to start with pricing of the watch. I bought it from my Uncle who was left it when a friend of his unfortunately passed. It came with an unbranded silver bracelet that was in unsatisfactory condition. Through my local jeweller (has sold me and my family various watches, including 5 seamasters, 4 of which are the modern variants) had the watch sent to Geneva for servicing. They equipped the watch with a genuine Omega strap and serviced the piece which now moves beautifully with its automatic function. The problem is, I dont wear the watch, it sits in my wardrobe in a case with no love. Cant even say I wear it from time to time (no pun intended) because i dont!
What I would love to know from all you lovely people is how much can I get for this. Would love to help my brother out who needs a new car and quite frankly its just sat there! Please let me know what I should be asking for this.

Well the service was £280 and took weeks. Thats including the strap. I just need a bit of guidance on this as Im not a collector. Was not aware of the possibility it was a refinished dial though, so i’m glad thats been pointed out. I assume that means it has been altered from original?

Have you the paperwork for the ‘Geneva’ servicing, to evidence that it actually happened ?

Is this something that may have been potentially done when serviced?

I havent. Just a receipt from the jeweller for the strap. I never quieried it at the time because I’d have never thought I would have an interest to sell. Very much just curious as to what this watch is worth face value.

That would be a bit criminal to do...but you've forgotten how the watch looked like before service?

The same I would have thought but cant aay for certain. I assume we are talking about the text that states “seamaster” on the dial that made you think so?

Receipt states £280 for service and strap. And I was told at the time and prior to paying it would be sent off directly to Omega and would be a few weeks. Thats all I know. I understand for collectors its not much to go at but Im merely curious and not making any enquiries about selling right now.

Just a little surprised that the Omega Official Service, did not include case polishing ?

Unless of course you requested that should not be done ?

Compared to others I'm just a beginner. Good luck with your watch!
