I’ve been offered this IWC 36 mm Pilot UTC at an attractive price in NOC condition but the number 10 on dial is cut. The 0 on 10 is half cut. Is it okay? Should I buy this or leave? Whether IWC issued such watches with error on dial? I’m not aware. Please help. Regards

Well they’re are plenty on chrono24 with the cut 10 and 11, so I guess that alone isn’t a tell. But more than that I can’t really say, although the alignment of the date window, marker, and 15 look a little off (could just be that it’s taken on an angle and the side of the marker isn’t visible). Movement shots would be a great help.

Have you looked at official on line reviews for this watch, IWC’s website, other reliable sources?

Yes Sir. IWC spitfire UTC has this cut dial design only. This gives an unbalanced view IMO but there are people who still appreciate it as a splendid watch.
I abandoned the idea of buying it, in spite of being offered at very reasonable price, as if it irritated me before buying then it’ll perhaps bother me afterwards as well.

Sound reasoning. Better not to buy than buy something that's already bugging you.

And you've discovered the main reason why as much as I love the overall look of an IWC Portuguese, I'd never actually buy one because 6 and 12 would drive me insane. Cutting numbers on a watch dial is a surefire way to annoy the crap out of me. It just looks terrible.
