Hi All, I am pretty new to vintage Omega and would appreciate your input on current market value of my much-loved Speedy. It's a 1967 cal.321, 105.003. STUNNING dial, serviced recently by STS in the UK. Hands are original to the watch but have been relumed. Faint hippocampus visible on the caseback. Age and provenance have been verified by an Omega 'extract from the archives'. Pics below. All input appreciated! I have the bracelet for it and also a spare Omega service replacement bezel insert (original one is currently on the watch)
nice watch and enjoy wearing it. as for value, i think a quick search of Google / sale forums / ePrey should guide you . Bracelet - any reference number on it? Of course the original bracelet will be worth more...
Beautiful watch, I'm not as expert as most of our respected fellows, or expert at all come to think of it, but I'd go as high as £100 if you were to offer it to me.
Dial looks nice in the pictures although like you say, the hands don't match perfectly. I much prefer it with the original bezel (wear and all!). It's hard to tell how much from the pictures but it looks like the case has been polished. The extent to which will affect the value. Check out speedmaster101.com for a great (and as far as I can tell, accurate) price chart. I'm not sure if you've just acquired this or are perhaps looking to sell. Let me know if you are as I'm based in the UK and on the lookout so may be interested.
Btw, for a more accurate idea of value pictures of both sides of the case, the back and the movement would help.
Thanks for all the comments Guys! I'm afraid I don't have the tools to take the case back off and as the watch has been fully serviced and sealed recently, I'm reluctant to do so. It has definitely been polished, but lightly and sympathetically. i would have preferred the hands not to have been relumed, but hey-ho, I've never seen such a perfect dial, so I suppose you can't have everything. I have been told the movement is in wonderful original condition.
Well the hands and bezel have been replaced, but I would think you could still get a least a couple hundred bucks for it
The hands are original to the watch, I believe - but relumed. The original bezel is back on the watch - see first pic above.
Just light-hearted offers on this thread! I hadn't seriously thought about selling as it would be almost impossible to find an example with a nicer dial.
Glad to hear the original bezel is back on the watch, I was so disappointed when I saw the second picture with the new bezel - mainly because the original is in really good shape and a perfect match to the watch. Thanks for sharing it with us, enjoy.
Well guys, I am still enjoying my Speedy and can't bring myself to sell. It's a birth year watch for me ('67) so would be irreplaceable without going for a later (non 'Ed White') watch (as I have never come across another '67 for sale)..
