Hi Andrea. If the marks on the face are really only the crystal it's probably going to sell for a bit over $1000. If they're on the dial it's might not reach that high. Dial condition is VERY important with brands like Omega. That's a very late 50's to mid 60's watch.

The small scratch near 6 is on the crystal (IMO), it's casting a shadow on the dial.

Actually, just quickly glancing in Photoshop, it's looking like they're all (probably) on the crystal.

Other things to consider are plain back vs monster back. A crisp monster back would take this to around $1000 as ULF says, a plain back will usually bring bid down at least $100 and an engraving on a plain back perhaps another $100 or so less still.

Dial looks OK to me as well.

Be VERY sure it is actually marked 14K GOLD between the lower lugs.

A good first step would be to take plenty of pics and post them here. Guys here can explain taking the caseback off, so you can get movement photos too.

Looks like a front-loader. She will need to take it to a watchmaker to get movement photos.

    A very nice looking watch,

I understand these are made by Briel - making it also a good money maker??

I'll take it to a local watch maker and have them look into both of them for me.

    Cheers Guys!
Ill let you all know what transpires and pup it up for sale (the omega) in the next few days or so.

    Sincerely,
    Andrea

Hi Andrea. There seems to be a lull in buying at the moment, but that never lasts too long. You could try other watch sites also and there's always eBay.

Did you have the crystal polished? Has the movement been serviced?

    Hi Andrea,

I am sorry to say I think I see the problem. You are asking $1,000; which was the price given above assuming it was a 14ct solid gold watch (as you implied here). However, looking at the pictures in your post in the sale section, it is obviously a gold-capped on stainless watch - there is only a layer of gold on the lugs and the bezel.

Considering the condition and lack of service; I would bet this would sell for around $400 on ebay.

That explains it - and I agree that $400 is a fair estimate all things considered.

Definitely steel with gold, will need a new hand set or at least have the black paint removed from them and that strap isn't doing it any favors.

thanks so much guys. Buyer beware on my end unfortunately. I shouldn't dabble in things I know nothing about :(
I'll try Ebay and repost on the forum for $400 also.

    Cheers,
