Hi.. I have a vintage Omega Geneve watch that I wish to sell and I have no idea what to ask for it. It has some scartches on the face and one small crack. It is an automatic with a stainless steel back, I am guessing it is from the 1960's or 1970's. The black strap is damaged. I also do not know if the gold casing is pure gold or gold plated Can someone help? It does not seem to be working.

I'm moving your post from the Universal Geneve forum to the Omega forum, but I'll give you a preview of the answer - there isn't going to be one without pictures.

Sorry about the repeat photo.. I am not great with this sort of thing! Someone offered me 100.00 British pounds..does that sound fair?

I am not an expert, but I think 100 British pounds (~$164 USD) seems awfully low.

Does it run? Look at what they are going for on Ebay. That SHOULD give you a DECENT idea of things.

Hi. The watch is from 1969-70. It's a goldplated case with some (little) wearthrough in the plating, on the lugs. The dial looks good, and the case look good too, the small wearthrough disregarded. It's a very well renowned movement in it, cal 565 with quick set of date. It can be used in the popular watchco SM300. I should say that the movement alone is good for a bit more than GBP 100. I think that on eBay it should fetch at least GBP 200, maybe 250

Thanks for your reply, no it is not running, but I also thought £100 was quite low.
