It looks like a mid 50's ref 2828. condition is almost too good to be true.Case has been polished (a lot) I'm guessing it's a redial but pics are inconclusive. it looks like the batons are gold and the hands silver..but that might be just the light. If not I'm guessing the hands were swapped out. Can't comment on the movement. I see you're new here so you might be starting out collecting: you'll need to look at the redial no redial debate that rages here. Is it yours or are you looking to buy? If buy, what are they asking?

Any tattoos, scars or other unique marks?

You will need to pop that back cap off for the info you want.

I'm not sure I agree about the polish or the redial.

You might well be right..the pics are inconclusive. But it's in astounding nick otherwise...I've learnt to err on the side of pessimism.

+1. I do have the same concerns about the hands though.

Why do you say the case looks polished? Looks quite crisp from the supplied photos, crisp facets etc.

Poor pics, I guess redial. I think I see inconsistent thickness on the lettering. Funny thing about the case. It looks unpolished on the top. Polished on the underside (see lug tips). I do love that BIG hippo on the caseback!.

I think the case looks great. Can you post a better photo of the dial, taken straight on, with high resolution?

OK, now I can see that the hour and minute hands are not original. I'm still unsure about the dial. The minute markers looks pretty good, but some of the lettering looks a bit uneven. For example, the two "A"s in "AUTOMATIC" look different.
