Greetings Omega Forums, My mother brought this watch to me and asked me to try to identify it, and determine its value. It appears to be an Omega, but the logo is different from what I see on other Omega watches. This one has a crown instead of the Omega symbol. Below the dials, it says "ELECTRA," and below that it says "UNBREAKABLE MAINSPRING." It also says "SWISS MADE" near the bottom of the face, and "SWISS" on the back battery cover. However, the band says "Made in Hong Kong, stainless steel." I can only assume that if it really is an Omega, it doesn't have the original band on it. The watch was in a steamer trunk that my mother inherited from my grandfather. Would you be so kind as to help me identify it? Thanks
Hi and welcome to the forum! It's a complete fake, but has some claim to fame, since a sibling was featured on Desmond's Omega Constellation blog: http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.dk/2010/07/when-fake-omegas-were-easy-to-pick.html
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this pocket watch. Not had much luck with jewellers near me. Thanks for any assistance provided The numbers on the back case are : 6210883 I've been told many different things about these, the most plausible being they are a reference to when it was made. The numbers on the working side of the watch are 5464677 I'm sorry for the poor pics. Taken with my iPhone rather than camera.
Take a look at this from Omega: Based on the chart above, I'd say the pocket watch dates from around 1920, +/- 2 years or so. The case number and movement serial numbers line up nicely. Hope this helps, gatorcpa
That's brilliant mate. Thank you so much. You've just told me more than any of the so called dealers. Brilliant
