    Hi Guys,
i have bought a second hand Omega constellation for my wife few days ago. i took it to an Omega authorize seller and paid him to check the watch. he said its original except the leather band (the deployment buckle is original as well). the thing is...i cant find this watch anywhere online , seems like the old constellation didnt had the roman numerous and the newer ones come in a more square shape. the motor inside is Omega 1532 and its a 35 mm. if you can help me identify the watch? value of it (hope i paid right price). thanks in advanced !

I used the serial number on the case back to look up your watch on the Omega Extranet:

    Serial number: 57561336
    Article ref: 15123000

The thing is, that serial number corresponds to a very different looking Constellation. One with an integrated bracelet, and a silver dial:

    https://www.omegawatches.com/watches/constellation/95/15123000/

Your watch appears to possibly have the wrong case back installed, or may just be a collection of parts put together by someone. In any case, the person who told you it was "original" clearly didn't check it well.

    Cheers, Al

    Hi,
the watch was opened by authorized watchman and stated its original by him.
you can also see the cal 1532 movement that we took a pic when it was opened.
i dont know about the cover though...can it be a copy with that high level of details ? the motor is omega movement ...
by the way how do you find a watch by his serial number?
    thanks

If he is "authorized" tell him to log into the Omega Extranet and search by serial number, and he will see the same results I do. This is not a public site and to get in as a watchmaker you have to have a parts account with Omega. If someone brought me a watch for authentication, this is the first check I would do, so not sure how authorized this person really is.

I'm not saying the parts are fake, but clearly it's not original as was stated.

It's very possibly a collection of parts, and not a model that Omega ever made in the form you have it - in other words it could be a franken watch...

I would suggest contacting who you bought it from, and asking if it can be returned if you are unhappy with it.

    Hi,
thanks again. yeh seems that the back cover was taken from another constellation. i opened and took some pics of the movement- how can i know if the movement is genuine ?
also - i have found this watch who is similar to mine - only its automatic here:https://www.omegawatches.com/planet-omega/heritage/vintage-details/15551/
i can assume they did a quartz version as well, no?
    thanks again 20170305_131959.jpg 20170305_132026_001.jpg 20170305_132040_001.jpg 20170305_132040_002.jpg

The movement looks genuine, if a bit dirty. No idea what variations they did of these - Omega makes a lot of different watches, and without a case number or serial number to use (they are both on the case back in this instance, which is not for this watch) it's not going to be easy to identify.

Thanks for your insights, at least i feel ok that i didn't paid for a fake one. I mean i know the back cover is not the correct one and the band is not from omega, but for less than 200$,i guess its ok... And my wife loves it, and thats more important, right...? The shop i took it for a check did not went online, they only popped the back cover and said its genuine omega movement...
