    Hi folks,

I was hoping if you guys can help me identify this vintage Seamaster. I was able to come very close to an id in OVD CK 14910 but its showing a leather band and does not have the crosshair on the dial.

Sorry i don't have any more pictures detailing the movement but i assume its a calibre 562.

Also can anyone id the bracelet? it looks similar to the BoR but it isnt, it has a #70 on the corner by the lug.

    Thanks everyone.

14910 would be a good guess. Many different dials offered so the OVD photo shows only one possibility.

Bracelets were fitted at the point of sale and this one is correct for the watch.

    7-row BOR.

Nice watch. For some reason the dials on this model seem to survive better than others. I have the no-date version with a 552 movement. The serial number dates it to 1960.

It has the correct bracelet "style". The dial is likely refinished. The "S" on the Seamaster has too many angles and a gap between the "S" and eamaster etc.

Hmmm....I'd be willing to put money on that being the original dial finish. The "coathanger" S is dead right for an early Seamaster and the gap in the word also looks 100%. All appears spot on.

I'm not seeing anything on OPs watch to indicate the dial has been refinished, looks original and in nice shape to me.

I think it's fine. There were a number of variants of the "coathanger" script, just as there was with the "rounded S" script.

Here are three of mine, all original and not from refinished dials.

the pointed "S" of the seamasters (compared to the rounded S) is used and printed only to crosshair dialed seamasters.

it is not a common S design compared to the rest of the rounded S omega dials.

I made a deep research on the pointed S before bcos it caused me a deal of doubt too on my piece until i noticed that it's mostly common only to crosshair dial. i will share some pix soon.

    This pointed S is rare.
