Hi all, newbie to the forum here!

I have recently inherited my grandfathers Seamaster and I’d love to know the model if anyone is able to help.

Also, it requires service/repair as although the movement appears to work I am unable to set the time and I have no idea when it was last worn, let alone serviced! Hopefully it’s likely to be a fairly simple fix, but I would also appreciate your thoughts on options for this please? When pulled out, the crown just spins freely. It does still wind the mechanism though.

I would also like to replace the aftermarket strap for something that fits me better and is ideally as close to ‘period correct’ as possible. I appreciate that may be easier said than done!

    Thanks in advance.

    J

Nice one. Take to watchmaker for service. Crown is not original.

2767? Should have a clover shaped crown. Mine is from the 50's. Looks incredibly modern even after 70 years.

Rose gold markers? I bet it looks even better in natural light.

Does it have a bumper movement or a full rotor movement? Shake it gently - if it bumps, it’s a bumper. Bumper parts can be hard to find and I’ve had watchmakers turn me away because of that.

Post where you’re located and maybe someone can give watchmaker recommendations.

Yes, rose gold markers & it looks gorgeous in the light. Just the right amount of patina on the hands & dial.

The movement doesn’t ‘bump’, but the rotor is quite noisy?

I’m located near Bournemouth (UK), so if anyone has recommendations for servicing/repair I’d be very grateful.

I’d love to get the crown replaced with the correct one at the same time too, so any pointers on where to source one would be brilliant!

    Thank you!

Simon Freese or Swiss Time Services both in Essex are the kiddies for restoration and servicing vintage pieces. Both are Omega approved

Thanks everyone for your help, I’ll try those two companies. I’ll let you know how I get on.
